Breath - Have you noticed how often you hold your breath?
Have you ever noticed that you tend to hold your breath (most of the time without realising) in moments of tension and stress? The body contracts completely to a point where you just freeze. Next time bring your awareness to your breath and remember to release the breath and keep breathing deeply. You’ll notice that when you breathe deeply and actively in times of tension you allow your mind to stay clear to focus on solutions and to see alternatives.
What does it do?
Breathing exercises clear the throat and lungs from impurities we inhale and absorb through the nose and mouth. Through active breathing you unveil the conscious from dark, grey energy by welcoming light and freeness into the mind and body. This allows the mind to prepare for concentration and focus for your day ahead.
Where?
Breathe deep into the area of tension or deep into the belly for a count of 4 each way.
How?
Be mindful of your breathing and actively carry out breathing exercises in bed, at your desk, whilst getting your eyebrows waxed, having a trim or waiting for X factor result, or even when you’re waiting in the queue for your morning smoothie. Just remember to breathe deep in through the nose, to the back of the throat to expand the chest and allow the breath to fill up the belly. As you exhale, draw the belly in and upwards and visualise the breath releasing from the belly, as the chest collapses and the breath is released from the back of the throat through the nose.
Give it a try and notice the difference to your day…
